Would you keep paying for daycare or stop? Advice please
My daughter is 3.5 yrs old and started part time daycare (twice a week) last summer. I am currently 22 weeks pregnant. Since she has started daycare, she has been sick nonstop. I know that is typical, but we have had 4 puking stomach bugs since then and she just now started puking again. She is also speech delayed. I thought starting daycare would be helpful for her speech and other milestones if she saw other kids doing them. She recently got ear tubes for hearing loss (which is most likely the cause of her speech delay) and starts speech therapy soon. My parents are retired and can and do watch her whenever we need and would be more than happy to have her back at their house vs daycare. Her teacher and a school staff member recently sat me and her father down to discuss that they feel that her development is behind and she is tough to manage during the day. I am to the point that I feel like I just want to pull her from daycare altogether. With illnesses, no help in her development, and worrying about her being a nuisance in the class, I just don’t feel the pros outweigh the cons anymore. Would you keep her in for the educational aspects or would you pull her?
ETA: all of her developmental concerns will soon be handled. She has been on waiting lists for months for things in our area. She will soon start therapy sessions for areas she needs help in.
