Will antibiotics help RSV?

Question

My mom gave me a bunch of antibiotics but I can't find the child dosage for nitrofurantoin for RSV so I'm going with my son to the walk-in in a couple hours when it opens. He's 7. My mom says to just crush up two capsules in some milk and give it to him and then give him three capsules a day until the antibiotics are done. She says you can't overdose on antibiotics but my sister-in-law, whose a nurse, says you can overdose on antibiotics so I want to be sure of the dose before I start him on them.
My sister-in-law also said don't give him the antibiotics because number one don't give medication that isn't for your child to your child and number two antibiotics don't work on viruses. My mom says RSV is just a bad cold and the Nitro will boost my son's immune system. My mom also gave me some lamisol cream for his fever rash and it's already working! I put it on his face and chest and the rash is almost gone! 
My sister-in-law also thinks my son has pneumonia because of how he was breathing and coughing on our video call to her. My mom saw him in person and assessed him. My mom says his lungs sound normal (she has a stethoscope) and that the wheezing he has is normal for RSV. 
I'm going to have that all checked out while we're at the walk-in though.
How soon after he starts antibiotics will this clear up? He has a fever (I just started giving him Tylenol for it), is coughing a lot, is super sleepy, and he is wheezing.
New edit: Took him to the walk-in and he was sent to the hospital. My kids allergic to the cream. He also has pneumonia so he's going to stay overnight for observation for a couple days. My mom is trying to tell me what meds and tests he needs but I'm ignoring her and I told the hospital to hang up on her if she calls. 
I always thought my mom was really smart and knew everything about medicine and health but this whole thing really opened my eyes. I'm definitely going to be Googling things from now on but I'm still going to go to the doctor of course. I'm going to ignore any medical advice she gives. I just feel so dumb for this whole thing.

Your mom is a dumbass and do not hurt your child by blindly trusting her bullshit uneducated “advice”. Do not give your baby anything she gives you. Take your baby to an actual healthcare provider and no you do not give antibiotics for viruses. There’s no telling what your kid has and needs treated with unless you take them to an actual healthcare provider who can give them an educated assessment and run any tests that are needed.

OMG this post is painful to read. I think you actually need to take him to the ER if that wheeze started after you started using the Lamisil! He might be allergic!
First, your mom is not a doctor or nurse. She is a doctor wannabe. She has a stethoscope but she doesn't know how to use it. She didn't "assess" your son, she played doctor. She has no authority and quite frankly NO BUSINESS "assessing" him and "prescribing" him anything! 
Second, Lamisil cream is not meant for children under 16! You are using it over a HUGE area of his body  Stop using it immediately. You could damage his liver exposing him to that much! You need to tell them about the Lamisil at the walk-in. Watch for light poos and dark pee which is a sign of liver failure. Also, Lamisil is an antifungal cream. It will not help with a fever rash.
Third, listen to your sister-in-law. She's a nurse. Nitrofurantoin is an antibiotic and you absolutely can overdose on antibiotics. It isn't going to "boost" his immune system and if his RSV has caused pneumonia, it's viral pneumonia meaning antibiotics STILL won't help.
Lastly, NEVER take any medical advice from your mother again. NEVER accept any medications from her again. She is not a pharmacist nor is she a medical professional. If she continues to do shit like this, she's going to kill someone.

Never ever ever ever, give your child antibiotics that weren't prescribed by the doctor, ever. If you give your child antibiotics when they aren't actually needed the body gets used to it and if your child really needs them some day they won't work. There are only two types of antibiotics. And should only be taken if the person is sick because of a bacterial infection. Antibiotics DO NOT help with a viral infection. It needs to be determined by the doctor not your mum if the person is sick from a bacterial infection or not. And antibiotics are very strong medicines you can indeed overdose on them. Also if the antibiotics are given when not needed it can do a lot of damage on the long run. So stay away from passed down medicine, do not ever give your kid medicine that wasn't prescribed by a doctor or pharmacist if it is over the counter medicine, not antibiotics those ONLY BY A DOCTOR.

RSV is a virus. Antibiotics don’t cure viruses and Lamisil is an antifungal topical cream- it cures fungal infections. 
Giving your child left over antibiotics is stupid. Means you mom isn’t taking her medication properly and suggesting you give it to your child is dangerous. 
RSV almost killed my child. Take yours to an actual doctor.

This post just irritated me.. coming from someone who had pneumonia i can tell you that shit was painful and my lungs hurt like no Tomorow.. poor baby if it is pneumonia!! Its really sad you could be that careless to give him leftover antibiotics and cream hes way too young for!!
