Grandparents took out life insurance on granddaughter

2yrs ago my parents took out a life insurance policy on our 4 yr old daughter(their granddaughter)and didn't tell my husband and I about it until a few days ago when they realized they had put her wrong last name on the insurance policy and now need a copy of her birth certificate from us to update her last name. Would you be upset about this if your parents did the same and did not tell you? They would have never told us if they didnt need the birth certificate. My parents are loving hands on grandparents.
