What week do doctors do NIPT testing during pregnancy? At my last appointment I was 9 weeks and they gave me the paperwork about NIPT testing and told me to consent and sign if I wanted it done, which I did. I signed and went over everything then they did a ton of blood work before I left but didn’t say if it was for the NIPT test or not. Do they do the test at 9 weeks? I’ve always heard they do it at 12 weeks but I’m not sure since they did blood work that day.

It depends on the company used and your OB’s policies. Natera Panorama can be done at 9 weeks minimum, most of the others require you to be 10+ weeks. The company will NOT report a result unless they’re confident there’s enough fetal DNA to perform the screen.

The brand my office uses (natera) says it can be done at 9 weeks but the doctor office doesn’t offer it until 10 weeks.

I’ve gotten the NIPT done twice, once w my last pregnancy & once w my current pregnancy & both times I had to be 10+ weeks to do it.

Had mine done at 9w5d then nipt ultrasound at 13w3d
