Increase in itching after using monistat 7

I am 29 weeks pregnant and used the first dose of monistat 7 last night because I have a yeast infection and my OB recommended it. I made it through the first night and thought my itching would be less intense this morning especially after how bad the itching burned while using it, I thought that meant it’s working. It feels more intense than the mild itching I was experiencing before starting the meditation even after I rinsed off with water in the shower and changed my underwear/panty liner. Is this normal?
