Any moms having to pay child support?

The noncustodial parent should always be contributing financially. Gender shouldn’t matter. My ex and her sister were raised by their single father. Apparently in the 80’s women paying child support wasn’t a thing. Her mom got an every other weekend visitation schedule and never paid support. Unbelievable!

Judges don’t usually rule for giving fathers full custody. It has to be an extreme case where mom didn’t show up or is obviously an endangerment to the child. So it’s rare for mothers to pay child support and not have full custody.

In ND technically both parents pay child support when the custody is 50/50. For example: Mom makes $30,000 and would then need to pay dad $300. Dad makes $70,000 and would then need to pay mom $500. The difference is subtracted and dad only pays $200. (Obviously the amounts are way off but I wanted to make the math simple.)  My best friend had to pay child support to her ex because she didn't have the money for a lawyer so he was able to lie and manipulate her. Per paper she only had weekends but they always did 50/50. She paid up until his 18th birthday. She tried to get a lawyer to help change it later on, but was told she didn't have a case... I think he didn't want to take her because he wanted to hold out for a pricier custody battle.
