Tips on plane rides?

My man and I are about to go on our honeymoon in 2 weeks!! We have a 16 hour flight.. over the ocean. 
Neither of us have ever been on a plane and both very nervous. Any tips or warnings about it? Do you know what the extra fees are? Can you tell us what to expect? 
As the day gets closer the more anxious I’m getting!

Check in at least 24 hours before and get to the airport early. Wear shoes you can easily take off and have on socks. Make sure your liquids are 3.4 oz and below and in qt sized bags. Those are tips for the actual airport/tsa. As for the plane, neck pillow and gum in case your ears pop. I always have headphones and a blanket or a thick jacket too. I have no other advice for the actual plane ride because I be knocked out on planes…I recently saw that people think that’s weird😂 Congratulations and I hope y’all have a great honeymoon!

The other commenters pretty much covered everything but I do recommend taking Dramamine non-drowsy!
When I went to Costa Rica I was fine but when I took Spirit I think it was the pilots first day on the job and I was thankful I had them with me!

Check your airline website for international flights luggage weight resteictions or else they will charge you overages even if just slightly over. Definitely bring headphones for each of you as most international flights you get your own TV, and bring plenty of hearty snacks because the food tends to not be good. Our last international flight the food was inedible except the dry buns with butter and we are not very picky. We also eat a good meal right before the trip. Bring at  1 or 2 change of clothes in your carry on in case of spill or if they lose your luggage for a couple of days.

Make sure you get up and walk up and down the aisle every so often and look up some leg stretches you can do in your seat so you can avoid blood clots and DVT from sitting so long.  Maybe wear compression socks. If you’re checking luggage make sure to pack at least one outfit in your carryon along with your toothbrush, deodorant, and any type of wipes you may use to freshen up at the airport bathroom when you land.  Download any shows or books you may want to watch or read in flight.  Bring headphones.  Bring snacks.  If you’re going to try taking something to help you sleep make sure it’s something you’ve taken before and won’t potentially have a bad reaction to.  Bring a neck pillow.

I just wanted to say for the actual ride, flying is incredibly safe. Much safer than driving even. It might get a bit bumpy but turbulence is just pockets of air that is a different density and won't hurt the plane. I recommend wearing your seatbet even when they let you take it off and look at the safety card in the seat pocket. Take a look at where the closest exit is from your seat. I find doing all those things makes me feel more confident when I get a bit nervous :)
