I'm having a colposcopy biopsy done in a few weeks what can I expect? Does it effect fertility in the future? I have hpv16 and recently my pap came back with severe high abnormal cell changes to the cervix.. apparently back in 2017 I had tested positive for hpv16 a biopsy was done at that time but the results for it never came back I didn't even know the doctor did a biopsy I thought he was only scraping my cervix to help with my chances of conception because we were struggling to conceive ( doctor never told me I tested positive for hpv16 nor did he tell me he took a biopsy I just recently found this out ) anyway fast forward to 2019 I conceived gave birth the end of oct 2019 apparently nobody did a pap during my pregnancy ( i also just found this out )... Fast forward again til now April 2023 they did a pap and it came back with severe high abnormal cell changes and I have to have a colposcopy ( apparently I only had 2 paps in the last 5 years ) I'm nervous and don't know what to expect or do from here thoughts & opions would be appreciated ( the doctor did refer me outta office to have this procedure done by a different obgyn she said this biopsy procedure will tell us what's going on and what steps we need to take next wasn't very informative she said she's a midwife and doesn't do these procedures )
