I just need to be ridiculous
You ever just have one of those thing that is ridiculous and you know it is but you’re like whatever I’m gonna be ridiculous about it?
I was with a group of moms yesterday and all the kids were playing. My toddler wanted goldfish so I handed her a snack container of them and off she went. No big deal. My friend was also there with her 3 kids (3 under 3 years). My daughter put down her goldfish container on a table and went on her way. As I was going to walk over to grab it my friend’s son, who’s 2, walks over grabs it and just starts munching. Wiping his hand on his nose and reaching in the container for more crackers. I’m not a germaphobe with my daughter but other kids it kind of ewww. Because they’re not mine I guess. I walk up to him and I’m trying to explain hey buddy those aren’t yours. He grunts at me and walks away to sit down with them. My friend comes over and is like “hey buddy! What cha got there. Are you enjoying so and so’s goldfish?” She doesn’t try to take them away or use it as a teaching lesson. She’s just like, he loves goldfish.
I’m not upset enough to make a huge deal out of it or anything like that but I only bring enough snacks for my child and I do so on purpose so there’s not a lot of sharing. I know she’s going to get germs and germs aren’t “bad” but hey I’m making an effort. I also think it’s rude to just let your kid go around grabbing things. I’ve had some issues with her 3 year old in the past being mean to mine (pushing, taking toys away, etc).
I know it’s ridiculous and I’m totally fine with being that mom. I wouldn’t mention it because I don’t want to shame her either. I’m just over here thinking about it.
