IVF at 44??
Hi ladies,
So I have a long fertility story. The short of it is I’ve been through 7 IVF cycles with my own eggs from the time I was 41-43. One of them took but I had a miscarriage at 8.5 weeks. I’ve also conceived naturally three times - two were missed miscarriages with a blighted ovum and the other was a biochemical. Separately, I’ve done two donor eggs cycles with genetically normal, high quality embryos (from a 26 yr old egg donor) and the first was a biochemical and the second failed. I’ve been tested for everything and the only thing that came back was the mthfr gene (only one) and I’ve been taking high dose methylfolate for that. Now, it’s a long story but I have the opportunity to do another round of IVF with my own eggs in Israel- covered by insurance. Is it crazy for me to try again with my own eggs given my history and age? This Israeli doc thinks we should give it another go since it’s covered. Only thing he’d really do differently that I haven’t already done is add prednisone during the implantation window. I’ve already been taking baby aspirin and I even tried lovenox.
Any thoughts welcome!
Thanks!
