How many do I need?!?!

FTM here. This little problem has been driving me nuts lately....

How much Newborn clothes do you buy?!

I don't wanna buy too much in case baby girl is big. Most newborn clothes I see go from 5-8lbs.

I know I can always go buy more once she's here but how many do I need to take to the hospital? Oneies? Sleepers?

I think we had about 10-12 newborn size and the rest were like 0-3 month. Our son was really long and skinny so he didn't stay in the newborn sizes very long. And while in the hospital we left him in the hospital onesies and just had his going home outfit with us.

I get none. All of my babies have been 9lbs so that's been a good thing. I just saw the top weight was 8 lbs the first time around and decided to skip them.  It's likely they will hit that within a couple of weeks if they are full term. Seems a waste to me. I get a few 0-3 month and more of the larger sizes.

I hardly used any newborn with my first, so this time I only got about 3-4 newborn sized things & everything else is 0-3 months.

I got about 8-9 newborn size onesies. I found that Carter's brand tended to be stretchier and longer, he was able to wear them past the weight guidelines. I got enough to get through a week with a few spares, plus some one-piece jammies.

I personally buy only a couple of jammies in newborn because all my kids have been between 19.5 & 20.5 inches at birth and they don't fit in newborn because of length
