Would you press charges?

So I won’t get into too many details but this girl hit my daughter yesterday at school. Really hard. Like she still has a knot on her head from it. We saw the video because the girl thought it would be funny to record it and show the class, you can even see her laughing after she does it while my daughter holds her head and starts to tear up. My husband and I want to press charges because she needs to keep her hands to herself. Period. My daughter said she didn’t hit her back because she didn’t want to get in trouble at school. My mom says we are overreacting to it but she didn’t see the video. We did. It just hurts my momma heart to see my daughter in the video red faced holding her head thinking they were just going to do something cute together or a selfie or whatever and bam. It was a hard hit too. And that brat just laughing about it. Idk my mom is making me feel like it’s nothing and now I’m doubting things.
