Everybody wants my flowers. How do I say no?
I inherited my grandparents’ farm 5 years ago. My grandma planted peonies about 40-50 years ago. They are beautiful. Everybody keeps asking me if they can take a cut for their garden. In the past I gave my mother in law some and my other grandma. My mother in law moved twice and left them. She keeps hinting she wants more. Now my best friend wants some because she started a flower garden. I already have 4 holes in the row from giving them to people (even though deep down I didn’t want to) . I know to most these are just flowers, but to me they are really special. It’s a piece of my grandma and grandpa. Grandpa would always pick me a bouquet every chance he had. I can’t stand the thought of cutting them up more.
