Are these too similar?

So I have a very dear friend who we consider family. Her daughters are our nieces and our kids are her nieces and nephew. They live states away and we haven't seen them since 2019. Now, I'm not pregnant but I recently got this name stuck in my head but I feel like it's way too similar and a major no go. Her oldest is named Rosalyn (Roz-uh-lin) and I've recently been hung up on Roselyn (Rose-lin) or (Rosa-lin) but call her Rose because my other daughters end in "-lyn" by coincidence. But, are these way too similar? I feel like I need to move past this name cause it's literally one letter off of my nieces name. Thoughts? nicely please

Im sorry but I really feel like it's pretty much the same name,like it's copying. My SIL named her son almost the same name as my son but 'with a twist' and Ive heard negative comments like why couldnt she have chosen a different name with so many thousands of options out there (it isnt a family name or anything like that). Im not mad about it but it is weird when we get together. I would actually steer clear of Rose names altogether.

Yeah I think they’re too similar. I wouldn’t blame your friend if she thought it was a little weird or like you wanted to copy/choose a name similar to her daughter’s. If you guys weren’t close and just old classmates or social media friends or something, I would think it’s fine, but because you guys are really close and the names are really similar, I think you should choose a different name.

Thanks guys. Back when I was pregnant with my youngest she did give the blessing for the name Rosalie, we just ended up choosing a different name so should I ever have another girl I'd probably double check that Rosalie is still okay and use it even though it wouldn't "match" my other 2 girls. My youngest and her youngest basically share a name too but for different reasons. Her youngest is Josephine and called Jo. My youngest's middle name is Jo but it's after my dad who's first name is Joe

I think with that name you'll get a lot of mis pronunciations so they might end up being called the wrong thing. Could you use a different spin on it like Rosie or Rose. They are often used as nicknames for the longer name anyway
