50% effaced and 2cm dilated

I’m 34+4 with my second pregnancy. I had my first via emergency c section at 28 weeks so I never made it to having any kind of labor.

I’ve been having a lot more frequent and more intense Braxton hicks in the last week and can feel baby’s head through my vagina when I do perineal massage. I asked to get checked today at my 34 weeks appt and she said I’m 50% effaced, very soft, and 2 cm dilated. I get Braxton Hicks with any kind of activity now and baby has been head down since 28 weeks.

Does this mean I could be gettting close in the next few weeks? Anyone else efface like this at 34 weeks?
