It always baffles me when we people excuse for not calling CPS is that foster homes are awful. Like your reasoning for keeping a kid in an abusive home is because they MIGHT be put in another abuse home? That logic is always extremely flawed to me. Plus as a mandated reporter do you have any idea how much abuse it takes to remove a child? I've reported a girl who's mom said she would allow her step dad to rape her. Girl is still there to this day. At least in foster homes there are requirements to be a foster parent. Any idiot can be a parent. Yes their are bad foster parents but their are horrible parents too so people's so nothing logic is flaws and ridiculous and you're part of why kids get abused

I do a coed volleyball team for the summer and I've been having a few issues with my own son and this mom said to me "If you need a break from you son just do what I do and lie and get them put into a mental hospital." I said what. She says when she's over her son she just calls 911 and says he's trying to kill her. And admitted she once cut his arm while they were fighting to make it look like he was self harming but said it wasn't deep at all. I was like "Wouldn't he just tell them the truth?" And she laughed and said "Who are they gonna believe. A 14 year old or their mother?" Yeah.... Best believe I made a CPS call at the end of the day.
