Okay so I’m 23years old and I’ve seen ALOT of girls on TikTok turning storage units into their creative space and/or shop.

I’m a makeup artist , I’m just starting out and I’m baking on a budget. I was thinking about getting a storage unit ( $160 max a month) to decorate and customize (it’ll literally look like a whole different place inside) to start my makeup business journey especially since I don’t have clientele right now and just starting up . I also do YouTube and I have NO space or PRIVACY at times in my home to really WORK (this WORK from home moms should understand 😩) so I feel having my own space (this storage unit) would be great to get work done , help me achieve a schedule, and I don’t want people coming to my house to receive a service from me.

The problem is I’m very self conscious about it and I’m scared that I won’t get bookings , people will talk about my or my business , or people would pull up and literally turn around and leave . But you have to start somewhere right ? It’s temporary until I build enough clientele to possibly rent a studio apartment for my bookings and YouTube.

What do you guys think ? Please give honest opinions . I viewed a shop yesterday and they are asking $175/week basically $700 a month and then told me it’ll increase to $200/month in about 6-12 months …atp I’m DONE with salons and just want a cheaper and effective alternative for myself. IDEAS ARE WELCOMEDDDDD
