You can use anything so long as it's clean and doesn't cause pain. Unless you like the pain lol. 
But if you mean using the actual mustard on you, it's probably not best. Food on the genitals can cause infections

ANSWER: There was no indication whether the person who posed this question was male or female.   Therefore, my response will address BOTH genders:
(1) The mild, yellow, mustard is perfectly okay to use as a lubricant ... BUT only if the user is MALE!  There are no adverse effects whatsoever, and no burning or irritation IF the commonly used yellow mustard is used.  (Never a spicy or horseradish concoction!  But this is just common sense.)  There is no concern of any possibilities of infection (see a writer's comment, just below, about this) unless there is already an open lesion on the exterior of the penis.  (2) Common plain yellow prepared mustard should not be used as a lubricant by females, however, due to the high concentration of vinegar (acetic acid) in the product.  From several "mustard for lube" female user attempts; they commonly reported the same thing.  The product caused a rather immediate and very uncomfortable stinging sensation which rather quickly progressed into an intense burning on the clitorus and intra-vaganally.  In all cases, the sexual session ceased immediately, and the women had to take actions (intra-topical washing and douching) to thoroughly cleanse away the mustard completely.  So, 'nuff said about directly masturbating with mustard, as a lubricant, for females.  Mustard can be used as a sexual enhancement ON the body (chest & tummy), but all caution should be taken by both partners - or solo - to see that the mustard doesn't reach the vaginal lips.
