Is my midwife sure ??? UK advice

I asked my midwife recently if I can labour in the pool and she told me no because I have a high bmi. She said if I passed out for any reason they wouldn't be able to get me out! 
Does this sound right? Google says labouring in the water is actually beneficial for bigger women !!!

Where I labored you could only do water birth if you were considered low risk. High BMI was one of the items that was considered high risk. Nothing about accessibility in case of emergency was really mentioned, but I guess it makes sense? If you are on the bed or floor and pass out, you won't drown and it's easier to roll you to a board for hospital transfer.

Can't say I've heard of this before, but overall from what I hear people with higher bmi are more likely to be limited in their options unfortunately.

Probably due to their own particular staffing and equipment limitations. Somewhere else with plenty of staff and a mechanical lift might allow it.
