Which comes first?

I have a handful (maybe 10) books but I don’t know if I should wait to buy a bookshelf until I have more.

I have a lot of books. In my studio apartment, I had a hand me down shelf that was my sister’s in college. It was filled to the max with books and other objects. I also had books on other pieces of furniture. When I moved into my husband’s furnished one bedroom apartment, I had to pack all of my furniture that I didn’t sell and most of my books into a storage unit. After we got married and moved into our house, I got all my stuff back. All of my book boxes came back to me. My husband decided to turn a room in the basement into a library for me. He and his brother picked out some IKEA bookshelves and got to work. It’s a nice little room with bookshelves fitted along one wall.
While I didn’t care how much space I had for books in my shoebox of an apartment, I will say that it’s a good idea to have a place to keep all of them.

Start small, then upgrade! 
I started with a mini shelf made out of four wine crates and when that was full I treated myself to a much larger shelf (53inx48in). It’s still only about half full with an entire shelf of To Be Read books but it was a nice reward to reaching 75% of my reading goal for the year by April.
