Nursing after reduction?

I breastfed both my children but after my daughter I had a breast reduction & lift because I was done having children.... I'm 15 weeks pregnant tomorrow lol so anyway ever since my surgery 8 years ago I've had really sensitive nipples. This pregnancy my boobs hurt so bad and my nipples and so sensitive just touching them is almost painful. I don't know how I'm going to breastfeed this child. Has anyone else went through this?

There are nipple shields to use. I am the opposite this time. I thought I was done having babies and had some small implants. My nipples are extra sensitive as well now. I'm considering trying out the shields.

This is pretty much all I've been thinking about for weeks. I had a reduction at 20 (breastfeeding last thing on my mind at the time) and now scared I won't be able to feed my baby.

my midwife has flagged me up for extra feeding assistance and has said that the more feeling you have in your nipples during pregnancy the more chance you'll be able to feed. but that doesn't help with how to make it not hurt when feeding :(

May be over - personal but have your breasts changed much with pregnancy? mine are a bit swollen but my nipples haven't changed at all yet.

sorry I can't be much help just so relieved someone is in the same boat. most people I've spoken to just tell me I should have waited to have surgery.

It's possible that you can still do it. You may need supplementation with formula or donated milk. Speak with a good lactation consultant. They may be able to help even before baby comes.
