Placenta Previa Bleeding
I am 18 weeks pregnant with placenta previa. I have been bleeding since 8 weeks pregnant. It’s been spotting red here and there, then it turns brown for a few days, then I will have no bleeding for a few days. Then randomly the bright red blood will come back. Today though I started to actively bleed more than prior. Bright red with clots the size of grapes for over 24 hours. And minor cramping in my abdomen. What is it that they can do if I go in? Just monitor the baby’s heartbeat? I have an at home Doppler but I still have yet been able to hear the baby’s heartbeat on it. I have tried to lessen the amount of activity I do since I was diagnosed. But my doctors aren’t really of much help, they just said to wait until the 20 week ultrasound. Does anyone have any experience with this? Can the lack of blood flow cause damage to the baby? Will it cause a miscarriage? How much blood is “okay”? At what week is the bleeding problematic and not something to just be monitored? These doctors just don’t give me answers and im scared.
