My boyfriend called me a slut twice during argument, should it be a concern?

He did apologise for it, and not too call me that again. But again he did for the second time during our heated argument. He does blame me a little for his reaction… sometimes it makes me wonder and worried if it will worsen or will it simply dissolve away, since we are humans, and we all make mistakes.. but as long we always try to become better version of ourselves, true?

Yes, it’s a concern. The ONLY time my fiancé would ever call me a slut/whore is during sex or sexting & that’s because he knows I like it in those situations. But, he would NEVER call me those names outside of that, heated argument or not!

Is he blaming you for it because he can’t take accountability or did you do something to make him have that view of you? Either way, if he can’t respect you and continues to call you out of your name, he won’t hold you high in his eyes and most likely won’t see u as a wife. If he ever does, it’ll be a long path of building and struggle.

It is a major red flag. Saying sorry isn’t worth anything if it happens again. Such insults should never be spoken to someone you love no matter how angry. The fact that he blames you for his reaction says it at: no accountability, no responsibility, no hope of things getting better. This looks a lot like the beginning of an abusive relationship. Humans make mistakes, but healthy humans take responsibility for their mistakes. Leave while you can. And… may I ask what the argument was about for him to call you names?

My husband and I have had little arguments but we have never called each other disrespectful names like that… and the fact he kinda blames you for it instead of owning up to his mistake would be an even bigger red flag for me.
