The leep surgery?!!!

I'm having a leep surgery to remove pre cancerous cells on my cervix. 1-has anyone else had this done how was the pain and recovery from this. 2- my period is due 5 days after will this cause any extra pain or infection while I'm just starting to heal? Thank you!

I had one 2 years ago. I experienced cramping, but not any worse than menstraul cramps. I started my period exactly a week after the procedure and experienced severe cramps on the first day but it let up by the second day.

I had one afew months ago, I was put under so didn't feel any pain during and was given strong pain relief for after. Cramping lasted afew days. Expect a coffee-ground type discharge afterwards, it's the dead brunt tissue that comes away after the surgery. Period won't be an issue at all, you'll still be bleeding from the leep anyway.

All I remember is that bad smell of something burning... Other than that I didn't feel anything and a little crampy after.

Yes I've had it. I was a bit crampy afterwards but not too bad. Bit like period cramps, paracetamol helped. My period also came about a week later. I never had any infection or ongoing issues. It was all pretty straight forward ?

You should be fine. Just rest that day and you will be ok.
