Foot ball game frenzy

My boyfriend’s friend (let’s call the friend Jack) and Jack’s parents were at a restaurant in my university town for an away football game.

My boyfriend is recovering from surgery so couldn’t make the trip to visit me. I recognized Jack when I walked into the restaurant this morning with a couple of my friends. Jack’s dad waved me over and we sat down and chatted for a bit. He wound up inviting me and my friends to jacks football game later today. He gave me his business card and told me to text him if we wanted to come.

I told my boyfriend about this interaction and he acted kind of weird. Saying how boring it would be and how much one on one time it would be with Jack’s parents with out him there. He said I could go if I wanted but didn’t seem thrilled about the idea.

I found this response kind of weird. Is he just upset he can’t be there or is there something more? Do you agree or do you think I’m over thinking it haha.
