Is this a good latch?

I remember a nurse saying that when the nipple like squishes/flattens it’s a bad latch but that happens to me with every feeding. Is it normal for that to happen?

Personally my areolas are like the size of a damn hamburger so my kids could never take the whole areola for feedings, so i dont go by that. Buuut. Rule is babies mouth has to be wiiide open, not partially open. Make sure babys lips are outwards so it doesnt look like theyre sucking their lip in as well, and flip the lip outward if needed.. make sure you put the boob in fast once babies mouth is wide open and latches at the nipple and the bottom of your areola as well. And if its a proper latch it shouldnt feel like pinching or biting. I suggest watching a video or two for a more descriptive advice if anything.

The baby needs to get the whole nipple plus the areola in its mouth. Their chin should be pressed up against the breast. A lactation specialist should be able to help.
