Eye medication for 4 year old

So my 4 year old daughter has pink eye I think that’s what her doctor said. She started talking about bacterial or viral and I was just confused. Anyways though, she gave me eye drops although they are like a gel. They have to be put in 4 times for 10 days but the thing is I cannot do it. She fights and fights and squeezes her eyes closed. I hold her down and try to open them but then she starts hitting me with her hands and I just don’t know how to do it. I literally want to cry because she makes it so hard. How the heck do I do it?

Edit; i tried talking to her calmly explaining to her what it is and why she needs it. I offered if she wanted to hold a teddy bear while doing it but she fights. Said she’d rather it get bad then so it so idk what to do 🙃
