Folic acid ?

Does anyone take folic acid pills before getting pregnant?  How often and how many do you take?   Do you continue taking while pregnant too?

Yes, it's included in your prenatal vitamin. You should take it while TTC, during pregnancy and after pregnancy.

I took an infants and toddlers class in college and the professor said if there is one thing you take away from the class it is that you MUST take folic acid BEFORE getting pregnant. It does little after conception.

I took prenatals prepregnancy that contained folic acid. I continue to take them to this day.

Been taking 400micrograms of folic Acid as prescribed by my doctor. Taken for a month so far ( ttc #2 ) and was told to take until end of 1st trimester. Helps to prevent spina bifida and other neural tube defects.

Yes ma'am... You can definitely take folic acid or prenatal pills pre-pregnancy... We are currently ttc#2 and my doctor prescribed me prenatal pills with folic acid ☺️

I never took folic acid while ttc, only a prenatal however after becoming pregnant my ob started me on 4mg of folic acid. I'm 30,not sure if that's why.  :-)

I don't know about before pregnancy but I was prescribed Folic acid while I was pregnant with my twins its suppose to help prevent miscarriages for women thats 30+,however I lost my twins at 20 weeks
