My baby is 8.5 months old and I’m trying to teach him to fall to sleep independently after months of contact naps. He has mastered it at night and sleeps alone for 11-12 hours, but in the day he screams bloody murder. I’ve tried putting him down wake after 1 yawn, 3 yawns, white noise, patting and comforting, sleeping bag, the lot. He just won’t do it. If I pick him up he immediately stops crying and his eyes will roll because he’s tired himself out so much. He will cry and cry until I eventually pick him up and he falls straight to sleep in my arms. I just don’t know what to do and how to get him to self soothe and fall asleep on his own.
