How much weight did you gain during your pregnancy?

What are the safe and healthy weight gain recommendations during pregnancy and how can they vary based on pre-pregnancy weight?

I gained 20kgs for my first two pregnancies and am on track to gain around the same for my third. Pre-pregnancy weight has been around 50-52kgs with each.

I’m overweight for my height and I was told to try and limit weight gain to 15-20lbs. With my oldest they said 10-15 and I gained 30 😅. This time around I initially lost 25lbs to begin with because of hg and I’ve remained within the same 5lb range and I’m 28w5d now. Still not back up to pre prego weight so haven’t gained anything thankfully but I fully expect that to change in these last 9 weeks lol

I’ve already gained 33 pounds and I’m only 30 weeks 3 days :( I’m really hoping I don’t hit 40 pounds gained :( I started out at 112, now I’m 145

If you’re overweight or obese before pregnancy there is an expectation that you gain less, maybe only 10-15 depending on your health and I think your doctor should guide that recommendation as well. Average weight pre pregnancy would give recommendation of 25-35 lbs. I was hoping to only gain 20 but at 31+5 I’ve already gained that 20, so I guess we will see if I can keep it to 25.
