Dark brown period during placebo pills?

Hi guys, this is my first month on birth control! I am on Larin 24 Fe, meaning I have 24 active days and 4 sugar pills. I am on the last sugar pill and I have this dark, coffee grind looking, discharge/period. I started having this on the third placebo pilI and I am wondering if this is normal? I’m used to having a bright red period. I start a new pack tomorrow so is this considered my period? Birth
