Preterm Contractions but not dilating? Anyone else had this happen?

Any have something similar happen? What was the outcome?

I started having contractions a couple days ago but they weren't regular or close together. Then yesterday they got worse so I went to L&D. They have me multiple types of treatments to stop the contractions. They were all unsuccessful. But, I am not dilating with these regular contractions, I'm not even at a one. So even thought I still have them and they are painful, I was sent home. I'm 35 weeks tomorrow. Baby is also breech so at the moment I can't even have him naturally, if I dilate I'll probably have to have a C-section.

Has anyone had contractions like this but was not dilating early? Did you give birth soon after or did they go away on their own? I'm in pain right now and so upset/scared. They just said come back when the pain gets worse.
