I have a friend who said she got the arm implant thing for birth control that lasts 3 years and said it was free because of Obama care - is this true? I

It also depends if you qualify for a grant. I know some planned parenthoods do that. You have to fill out forms (similar to financial aid for school) and if you qualify you can get it reduced or completely free. I don't have insurance so mine was 955 up front.

Maybe it was free to her because her health insurance covered it. Every insurance has a different policy depending on what policy you have. My insurance policy states that it covers all types of birth control that is FDA approved (so pretty much all forms medically available) so my insurance paid for mine.

It is not free at all lol. It is free depending on an individual's health insurance and whether it is covered or not. Everyone has different insurance so the cost is different. For me, I got the implant as well and it was covered 100% by my insurance. Others might have to pay a small cost. The device itself is like $800-$1000.
