Are those nasal pot for severe congestion safe?

Those pot things you use for severe nasal congestion.  I can't remember the name, starts with an N.  Are they safe?  This is my 4th cold since the Friday after dec 1st.   This time it's all in my nose.

They're fine as long as you use purified water. You can also boil water and wait for it to cool. All it does is wash out your sinuses. The purified water is just to make sure there's nothing gross in tap water getting flushed up there.

My doc said neti pot was perfectly safe. Love it! Def use purified or boiled water tho to remove any bactetia

I personally think Netti pots are gross, but knock yourself out if you want to give it a go. Tap water is totally fine to use too- the junk we breathe in on a regular basis is no better or worse than what comes through your pipes. Unless you're on a well and not city water, then I might suggest bottled (which is mostly city tap water), or you can boil and cool your own.

I prefer the sinus rinse over the neti pot. It's a squeeze bottle.

You don't have to hold your head at a weird angle for the rinse bottle to work.

I have used it throughout my pregnancy, and my doc said it's completely safe. It feels extremely weird at first, but it definitely helps!
