Enlow for a boy?

I made the mistake of revealing my sons name early. I’ve gotten a ton of backlash from my family for his name. I’m a little upset & embarrassed. Idk why I’m seeking validation from strangers but just curious if I am making a mistake naming him this.. I thought I made the right decision and now I am second guessing myself

I’ve only ever heard of that name as a last name. I personally don’t like it as a first name but it’s ultimately up to you and your partner really.

That’s why I never told anyone our names beforehand. I don’t want people’s opinions colouring mine. I have one of those personalities that would doubt myself and I care what people think so I just save myself the potential trauma. I find that after the babies born and you’re in that newborn glow and announcing the name, people are less likely to be douchebags and tend to keep their opinions to themselves. The few that don’t are just jerks no matter what you would have done/what you would have named them

He is your baby. I’ve experienced this as well. It was tough to get through it all when hormones and feeling are all over the place. I think a lot of people share that they don’t like the names we choose because it’s “out of love for us and our baby.” But honestly, what I’ve found is that regardless of anyone else’s opinion, they are OUR babies. He is growing inside of YOU. YOU are the two connected and if he feels like an Enlow, that is perfect! I have personally never heard of this name before, but I love it. It feel new and refreshing but also timeless and classic. Also, in terms of names, I don’t feel like this is really even all that “out there.”
What were the names that your family suggested? Were they upset you weren’t using a family name?

I personally don’t like the name and that’s my honest opinion but the cool thing about that is you could tell me and everyone else to kick rocks. If you like or love it then that’s all that matters

I can’t offer much advice but i can commiserate with you 😂 i was trying not to reveal my names too soon but over the 4th of July my family was asking me what names we have picked out and i casually mentioned a few, including the ones we already decided on, and they all didn’t like the boy name we had already picked lol. They didn’t know which ones were going to be their names so they gave me their raw and unfiltered opinions 😬. I put a lot of thought into the names we chose and even if they don’t like it, it’s my baby and my husband likes it!
