Gender reveal party?

I’m trying to start planning my gender reveal party and I have so many questions because I’ve never been to one lol 
1) how many weeks pregnant were you at your party? 
2) what are good cheap places to do them at? I live in Texas so it’s HOT rn
3) do you play games or is that more a baby shower thing? 
4) how many people do you invite ? Who do you invite? 
Any other general ideas or advice that can be given I’d appreciate it 🖤

I did mine at 16-17 weeks I can’t remember, we catered in BBQ and everyone talked and mingled like a normal party. There were no games other than voting on boy or girl. We all gathered in front of the decorations and did the little colored smoke cannons (a trusted friend knew the gender, we didn’t). It was a lot of fun and I got so many gifts I ended up not even throwing another baby shower. Funny enough it was exactly 2 years ago today

I never do gender reveal parties since we don't find out the gender, but most that I've been to have been around the 24 week mark. Usually just a reveal, and a request to bring diapers for a boy and wipes for a girl as a guessing game, and some food. Depending on where you're at in Texas greatly depends on what suggestions, if any, I can give for a place indoors for the reveal.

I would do it in the second trimester and once gender is known.
I would do it at my house 
No games - just a casual gathering for food/drinks and at some point the gender reveal
