Baby shower etiquette..is this rude ?

I went to my cousins baby shower yesterday. I forgot about it so i rushed to town to buy a gift. Nothing crazy. Just a 25 dollar gift that I seen on her registry. ( She is somewhat wealthy . Not rich. But has everything she could ever want). .anyway. Bless my mothers heart, she didn'tget anything that was on the registry but she got some really cute things . Any mama to be would be happy. With that being said, this girl GOT SO MUCH at the baby shower. I was exhausted before presents were even finished. She was rude , un grateful, barely smiled the entire time. I was happy to leave. Heres the rude part. She contacted a pregnant girl on facebook and told her " I dont like anything I got at.my baby shower, and nobody left receipts. Do you want this stuff?". Keep in mind, the pregnant girl IS MY SISTERS BEST FRIEND AND MY COUSIN DOES NOT KNOW HER PERSONALLY. Of course it would get back to us. Anyways. She is meeting my cousin AT MY GMAS house to pick up hundreds of dollars worth of baby stuff. For free. I just think its so incredibly rude and snobby. Thoughts ?

Is she getting rid of stuff she didn’t register for? Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but I don’t think it’s rude at all to get rid of it. If she liked it, it would’ve been on the registry. Straying from the registry is gifting something you know the receiver will possibly (probably) not like. Having to get rid of clutter while wrapping up third trimester is just another chore to have to worry about in a long list of things that need done before baby. Was your mother’s gift about the receiver or satisfying her own ego?

Gifts are gifts. The recipient can do with them as they wish. Giving things away, for FREE, to someone who can use them isn't rude.

Unpopular pregnant lady opinion: I was hella uncomfortable at my shower and I’m sure my face showed it. I agreed to a shower for my moms sake even though I don’t like attention on me especially when I’m uncomfortable in my body. It was hot, my SIL ruined our gender reveal by announcing it at the beginning of the shower, not to mention most of the guests knew the gender already (unknown to me and my husband because we had only told our parents/siblings and asked them not to share), and my in-laws changed the food without asking me so I couldn’t even eat majority of the food at my own party. Pregnancy isn’t sunshine and rainbows for everyone, cut her some slack. 
Majority of our gifts were not from the registry and we specifically asked for no clothing and gender neutral items to reuse for our next baby. We mainly got girl clothes or toys - again not from the registry. We still had to buy almost $1000 worth of baby necessities that were on the registry - like a baby carrier, a spare car seat base, bottles, pacifiers, crib sheets, a pack n play, gates, etc. I ended up donating most of the clothes we got because no one left a gift receipt and a lot of people removed the tags or picked a brand that would have been a pain to track down where it was sold and I didn’t want the hassle of store hopping for returns. 
I think it’s more insensitive to know there’s a registry, chose not to shop from it, and then get offended when the mom doesn’t use or keep what you gifted than it is to be an uncomfortable pregnant woman who chooses not to keep items she knows she won’t use or doesn’t have room to store extra items that there’s a chance she won’t use. You said you basically rushed to buy a gift anyways so idk what you expected from her if you didn’t even put much thought into the gift.

The purpose of a registry is to put stuff on it you like and want. Why even have a registry? Why even have a baby shower? 
She was incredibly rude. Some people have shitty morals. I wouldn’t get her anything the next baby shower, imho.

I think it’s rude to not shop from the registry. They’re literally telling you what they want/need. Unless the registry if full of unnecessarily expensive out of your price range items (like my best friend’s registry was the most expensive items she could find because “someone else is buying it for me”) and you opt for the same but slightly cheaper, stick to the registry. You don’t know what they need unless they tell you and you can’t pretend you know better than they do.

Idk. I probably came off as an asshole at my baby shower. But I also didn’t want to tell everyone “sorry the lidocaine I have slathered on my unreal hemorrhoids is wearing off so I’m in agony and don’t really want to stand up to greet you.” I was heavily pregnant, hurting and dealing with the anxiety of being the center of attention. I’m also not gonna lie, I gave away just about everything I got that I didn’t register for. there are only so many stuffed animals and baby blankets one baby needs. My main rule of thumb is if your buying off registry, buy something that can be used— diapers, wipes, lotion, shampoo, etc.

It’s not rude to give away stuff when she had a registry that no one (except you) actually used. I do think she should have smiled and said thank you, but giving away items she will not use is not rude.
