I recently bought some newborn clothes off a buy/sell site, paid 40 bucks and got ripped off bad, what's the worst thing you got ripped off of?

You should always use PayPal for your transactions. That way you can open up a claim against the seller and get your money back if things go sour.

Bought a purse from an outlet store for 200. The store was in China. My bank reimbursed me tho so it was all good. Kinda a pain tho.

I always do intensive research on sellers and the item before I buy anything. odds are if you can find the image they used on google, or if they can't give you any previous history on said items aside from "yeah it's the real deal" then run away fast! electronics are always a thing I steer clear from when buying online, because odds are it's either stolen or broken. not all the time but most of the time.

I had bought an MK purse on Amazon. (It was during one of their sales.) Well, when it got here, it was a fake AND it was broken. Only reason I knew it was fake was because the stitching was uneven and one side of the chainlink handle had 3 links more than the other. Amd the broken part was a zipper that wouldn't zip. I refused it and got my money back.

Hasn't happened to me but I work Chat technical support for Apple and it's amazing how many people have purchased stolen iPhones from Craigslist and eBay!

I dont buy name brand stuff from ebay. I'm in a few brand specific groups on Facebook where the admin are great about controlling shady people. I'll buy from them and that's about it

No, and I buy a lot online.  I'm careful though and if someone ripped me off, I'd dispute with website and/or credit card company.
