Diapers for 7pound baby ?

How long is a 7 pound baby in newborn diapers? I have newborn boxes from my shower and wondering if I should exchange for size 1

I don't remember from my daughter but my son was born 7lb 13oz. He is 2 weeks old and is now 8lbs 6oz and still in newborn. Not close to needing to size up yet.
