Making it rain off welfare!

Ok so I've been seeing a lot of people talking about Welfare and Im a little confused  where I live Welfare I believe helps people pay half of their rent and gives them food stamps. That is all the rest you need to figure out on your own. In order to apply you need to have a job. 40hours of work a week, if not they send people to a center that helps them search for a job or get their GED if they wish to. They make them report to this Center daily for a certain amount of hours. I myself applied when I first had my son ( No shame in my game) but only got approved for temporary food stamps. They gave me and my son $80 each a month for food. So when people say women are sitting on thier ass living off Welfare, making it rain with food stamps I dont understand how. So I guess my question is, are things better in different states? Or are people just being Judgmental and making things up? Like I would really like to know so I can move there Lmao
