What to expect at our first fertility doc appt?

Our appotiment is this month on January 22nd. I'm just wondering what all will be done for our first appotiment.

My experience was a little different, at my first visit it was just general questions to try to get to know me and my husband better. RE asked hiw long we were TTC, family history, both of our sexual history, then schedule a general check up like the 1 you would get at ur regulay OBGYN,  an intra uterine ultrasound to look at the uterin cavity and chk for possible fibroids, and blood work to test for HIV, blood type, vit D level, and a bunch of other things. Then I had to wait until the start of my cycle  to get a bunch of other test done all needs to be done between CD3-10. The tests were blood work to test AMH and FSH levels, Sono to looks at unterin cavity for polyps , and HSG to check your tubes.
Hubby had to get his sperm also analyze where the sperm motility and other things are tested. 
U might not going to have to be put on the pill at least not while u are undergoing testing. Once ur results are back n depending on if u opt for IVF then they will put u back on the pill to allow ur RE to control your ovulation and ur whole cycle.

At my 1st appointment I had blood work done and an internal scan. We both had full family history's taken and an appointment was made for my husband to have a sperm count done. He had previously had one done through his doctor and the results were fine, but the fertility clinic wanted to do their own to compare the results.  We have our next appointment on 19th January to get our results and to see what is our next step. We have been trying for over 18months.

Blood work. And probably talk about what the issues they think might be and how they can help you. Once they get your blood work back they will want you to come for a follow up appointment where they will actually give you a course of action and make your plan for treatment. Also- don't be surprised if they put you on birth control at your first appointment. They do that to restart your cycle and take control over your cycle so that the schedule of treatment can be made. They did that to and then also when I was between different treatments (iui's and ivf). Good luck!!!

Do they make both of u go or just the woman? I didn't schedule the apt for my DH to go too. Can I get checked out first and then him?
