What will happen in speech therapy?

My son has speech delay. He is 2 years old and 2 months and he doesn't talk. He saids mama and papa and some few words(less then 50). I would like to know what will happen in speech therapy? Should I buy/have something with me that will help my son with his speech and his speech therapy? Any tips and tricks? Any advice?

They will evaluate him see where he is at and what parts of speech to work on. Talk with you about your concerns and ask questions. Then they will write a report and assign sessions. It may be 30 mins or a hour at a time 2x a week. It is playbased so it fun for them once Babe gets used to their provider. Saying words is talking. It just takes practice and progress. My son was the same and he was discharged after 3 months and continues to make progress. He’s not at the same level as the most advanced child but he understands fine and will get there. He’s also an only child and some kids who might seem way ahead might have a hundred siblings and family members around them chatting. The main tips I would give are ignoring other people’s milestones and patience
