Toxoplasma from cat scratch??? Any vet here?

Hi everyone, my cat scratched me yesterday and it drew some blood. He is strictly indoor from two months. I’m sooo very worried about getting toxo from his scratch. Getting so much anxiety. Some say it isn’t possible to get toxo from scratch and some say it is possible as their claws may carry toxo spores. So restless. Can scratches really give toxoplasma?

That’s not how you get toxo, you get it from cat poop and under cooked meat

I also have health anxiety. So I understand that feeling of irrational fear. 
The chances of this happening to you are slim. Ive personally known zero people with cats (Ive known quite a few) to contract this and we all know cats like to scratch. People get cat scratches all the time and end up completely fine.
I didn’t even know you could get sick from cat scratches.. I’ve had countless.

I’m a vet tech, have been for 12 years. Both pregnancies I was careful with poop because that’s the common way to get it. You’re most likely fine but if you are that worried, please contact your obgyn. Please don’t call your veterinarian, they can not give you medical advice. Best of luck.

You should talk to your doctor about being so afraid of your cat. This isn't a normal amount of worry. You should be on meds or at the very least more educated on how toxoplasmosis works.
