Is sex really a big deal?

I'm 16 years old, and all of my friends have had sex. 
Some say they just got it over and done with and others tell me it's a big thing and it should be done with someone you love.
I've been single for 4 years now and don't really think I'll be getting serious with someone, so I need some serious advice.
Should I just go loose it or wait for the perfect time?

I'd say wait till the perfect time. I was a virgin at 16 too and all my friends were loosing their virginities and I didn't get it. A year later I found the love of my life and lost it to him. When the right guy comes he will make you so happy that you waited to share that moment with someone you care about

You should probably wait not just because it's a big deal because at the same time it's really not well at least for me it wasn't only have sex when you are 100% confident that you really want to do that and give yourself to someone because I won't lie after words you will either feel a really strong connection with them because they took your virginity so just be sure and be safe about it and if you really want to know more about it talk to your mom or a woman that you really trust I made the mistake of not talking to anyone and thought I was pregnant I told my mom and she put me on birth control and told me that I could have talked to her so let someone know at least that isn't one of your friends if you do end up having sex

WAIT. I had my first with a boyfriend I thought I loved. A month later he broke up with me. I lost self respect and slept with any guy that had a heart beat. Then my current boyfriend came around and had to seriously help me to understand my body is special and can't be given to anyone who asks. You gotta trust them, and personally I think you should love them deeply.
