How do y’all feel about online dating? I was thinking about joining a dating site but idk which ones are good and I’m kinda nervous about it… definitely not interested in men trying to just have a fling lol 
I’m also nervous about dating because I’m not really interested in having sex.

I met my husband on a dating site. My advice is to be upfront about what you want. Dont be casual just to not scare him off. If you want marriage/serious relationship, say so. If he gets scared off,l by that, hes not serious anyway. Dont engage in flirtatious talk or that opens a door to the booty hunters. Dont stay in the 'talking' stage for too long to where youll feel invested before even meeting him. Talk a couple times then plan to meet up in a public place the first few times. You wont know chemistry or compatibility until youre in person. Take it all with a grain of salt until at least date 3, dont get emotionally invested by the talking/texting/first date or youll cloud your perception/discernment if hes actually a good match, or youll start to feel hurt by the ghosting or just-booty attempts. Be smart about it, there are frogs out there, but then I met my now husband who was also serious and it was just easy and drama free.

I met my husband on Instagram. We were both part of a community and had a lot friends in common. We had the same life goals and shared ideas and info with eachother, became friends, then best friends, made plans to meet up(as friends), then he told me he loved me and flew 1200 miles to meet me. 4 months later I moved 1200 to live  with him, we got married and have a beautiful baby now.

Try bumble or hinge. On bumble the women have full control, nobody can send you a message unless you message them first (after matching). In my experience those apps seem to have more people actually interested in something more serious than just a fling.

As with everything in life, there’s always people who ruin it for everyone. The creepy guys, the ones who send you dick pics, you get the point. Especially those who are not honest of what they’re really looking for and just tell you what you want to hear. Unfortunately, sometimes you do have to kiss a bunch of frogs before you find a prince, I hear all kinds of crazy dating stories from people. I once met a guy, and I told him I had a 30 minute drive home. I said I’ll talk to you when I get home. Meanwhile, I’m driving my phone is blowing up, hello, where are you, why aren’t you answering me? Hello, are you there, I’m like oh my gosh this guy is crazy and compulsive red flags are shooting off. It lasted three days before I had to block him. You just have to be very selective, completely honest, what you are looking for, because if they’re looking for hit it and quit it, and you’re not, then, obviously things are not gonna go as planned. Not everyone on dating apps is looking for a relationship. Unfortunately, there’s more married man then there are single man on dating apps, cheating on their girlfriends, their wives, pregnant, girlfriend, and wives, etc. Remember to think with your gut, not your emotions, not your heart, things with your gut and things with your head, because obviously your emotions can get clouded and your judgment, giving people the benefit of the doubt, trying to see the best in people, giving people chances, however, those people don’t deserve those chances, or shouldn’t be given those chances, because what you tolerate in the beginning, usually ends up being the reason things don’t work out. Remember that you don’t owe anyone anything, if your gut is telling you or your head is telling you something is off, it probably is. Unfortunately a lot of the man have a ruin dating apps by turning it into a hook up place rather than relationships. Men no longer have to make the effort like they used to being funny and charming, they can literally open a window on the website and basically say who wants to have sex and people come running. You used to have to win over a woman, get her to trust you, go on a whole bunch of dates before sex. What happened, now it’s a different ballgame, if you don’t put out what I want it, I’m going to somebody else. Or they talk to multiple people at the same time, and whoever gives them the best offers who they go with. I wish you luck, it’s not easy, I think about joining online dating often, but the stories that I hear from people, this one guy told me he went on a date with a girl, and she pulled the bathroom thing and never came back on the first date, or they’re just looking for a meal, and the minutes at the meals over they never hear from them etc. But I wish you luck
