Have/would you ever date your BEST friend’s ex?

I’m not usually a fan of the whole “girl code” and “can’t date a friend’s ex ever” kind of attitude, but when it’s a best friend opposed to a friend you don’t know as well, is it worse?
 I’m curious if you have, do you regret it? If you haven’t, is there ever a situation you imagine you would or might?
 I’ve heard of men and women cheating on their partners with or getting with their ex partner’s best friends or even siblings after breaking up so this is totally not uncommon, I’m just wanting opinions and experiences.
 What are y’all’s thoughts are on this?
 Is it ever acceptable to date a BEST friend’s ex?
 Is there an amount of time that makes it acceptable?

No, would never do that. There are so many other men in the world, I wouldn't talk to or try to get with a friends Ex. Unless you don't value your friendship much.

I think it’s okay if they dated for maybe a few weeks/just had a fling. Other than that, I would never date my friends exes. Or my sisters. That sounds really gross to me lol I can’t even allow myself to think about doing that.

A little different situation. But I actually met my husband through my ex 😂 they were pretty good friends. We all lived together and everything. And neither my husband or I have any regrets about it. And let me just say like, when we were together there was absolutely nothing going on between my husband and I at that time. He helped me through my ex cheating and treating me like shit. Like he would stick up for me. But once our lease was up I actually broke up with the ex, and went my own way then my husband and I connected again months later and we just fell for each other. He had a fallen out with my ex, and they were no longer friends at the time either. But my ex was still pretty pissed off when he found out we were dating. He went off spreading nasty rumors and, sent a "F you" message to my husband 😆 but honestly, sometimes you just can't control fate and love 🤷‍♀️

My boyfriend had two exes that I was somewhat acquaintances with but only hung out with a couple times before I met my bf. I met him through my older sisters boyfriend and started dating him. Even though we weren’t friends, his exes did not like me because of it and there was some drama. But it’s been years and they are both in happy relationships. I’ve hung out with them a couple times because we have mutual friends and we are friendly now. But if it was one of my friends or my sisters exes I would not even think to go out with their ex, there are plenty of fish in the sea imo

NO WAY unless they just went on a few dates and it went nowhere or it was like a highschool romance and we are all well passed that. Or if I just didnt care about that friend anymore and wont be seeing her much anyway.

My best friend dated, had a kid with, married and divorced my ex and our relationship has never been the same. I could see maybe if the relationship ended  mutually and on good terms, and they asked how you'd feel about it first, it could be fine. But in my case, it was messy and it totally fucked up our friendship for a long time. We're fine now, but it took a long time and we aren't as close as we used to be.
