Where does your newborn or little one sleep at?

I am currently co-sleeping. As in my baby’s crib is beside my side of the bed. Twice when my husband and I napped, our baby would nap with us in bed. Bed sharing scares me so much that we avoid it. However, we noticed all 3 of us get much better sleep. Then I remind myself that if anything would happen to my baby I’d never forgive myself just to get extra sleep. At what point is it safe to bed share? Also my baby is 6 weeks old.

My son had reflux and was a high needs baby and would NOT let me put him down, especially not flat. The second he was not touching me, he was awake. He would click his tiny little fingernail against my fingernail all night long to make sure I was still there. If he was awake, I had to baby wear to get anything done. He was either in the bed with me or I slept in a recliner in the living room with him on my chest. It was not ideal, but I was so sleep deprived I didn't care where he slept as long as he slept. He was also breastfed and refused every bottle we tried, so I couldn't just pass him off to someone else. Its easy for people who have babies that sleep to scream about bed sharing, but when the options are sleep with the baby or have a psychotic break from sleep deprivation, you bedshare. I did the best I could do. He's almost 7 and sleep is STILL a hard thing with him. Doctor says he's fine, "some kids just aren't good sleepers." I haven't not been tired in 7 years lol.

I bed shared, but we slept just the two of us on a firm mattress on the floor with no blankets or pillows. I would just put her to sleep there next to me and sometimes I could detach myself and go snuggle in bed with my husband for a while, and then when she woke, I'd swap beds to snuggle her back to sleep.

I never ever bed shared. Baby sleeps in bassinet/pack n play right next to my side of the bed until ready to move into another room.

Bed sharing is never safe. You can lessen the risk but it is never safe. 
My son will always sleep separate from me until he’s old enough because I love him too much to risk his safety for sleep. Currently I’ve been up with him since 1am bc he won’t sleep in his crib tonight. So I’ll loose sleep but he’s safe and alive. 
Survivorship bias is real. “My babies are fine and we bedshared” is not a good argument. There are plenty of babies who aren’t here anymore and whose parents will have to live with their choices.

I bed shared with both my kids with my son til he wanted his own bed he was about 2 and my daughter is 8months tomorrow and she loves to snuggle still. I’m a heavy sleeper bed sharing for me was a way to ease my nerves (I had a serious fear of not hearing the baby’s cry at night)

My first was in a bassinet next to our bed for two weeks before I moved him into the crib in his room because he was such a loud sleeper. With my second we bed shared until 8 weeks (which I said I’d never ever do but like you, found that was what worked best at the time) and then switched her to a crib because we wanted our space back
