Suggestions on what to do with toddler when in labor with baby #2?

We don’t have ANY family who are able to watch our toddler (due to medical reasons) and our friends all have jobs that they can’t just leave on a whim when labor starts. We recently moved to this new area and we haven’t had a babysitter that would do an overnight. I’m so stressed about what to do when labor starts for baby #2 and what to do with my toddler?! He’ll be 2.5 when baby arrives in spring. I have time still to figure it out but WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO?!

I had to bring my toddler in the delivery room with me! I went into labor around 4am and She was almost 2.. I packed her favorite snacks and toys and made sure that she knew Mommy was okay... because we talked about the new baby, I told her she needed to be a big girl so mommy could have "our baby". the nurses corralled around to take whatever they could of my hands and I kept her buckled in her stroller!     WHATEVER you have to do.. you do it! Because you can! That sweet baby is gonna be strong and brave for you! Don't panic- he'll feed off of your energy.

I had baby2 during covid and I ended up going alone. They just came to pick me up outside the hospital thats all. But it’s not something id wish on anyone

I mean if you can’t find anyone just have your husband stay with him and go once he’s allowed in the room

I know everyone is saying have your husband stay home. But have you ever considered talking to your doctor about a home birth?

This isn’t ideal but if family cannot travel to you when you are around labor time, and you can’t get a sitter, then it seems to me like your Husband would need to stay home with your toddler. Ideally, you have your partner with you. Maybe your mom or friend could be with you when you deliver instead?
