What is duck duck go used for?

I noticed a duck duck go web page on my husband's phone. What is that used for? I tried to google it and see it's for private browsing or whatever, but I know he uses google and safari and all that so what is duck duck go? Could he be using it to hide something from me?

I use it as my default browser because it blocks online tracking. I will sporadically use Google (ie for maps, or when search results aren't helpful).
He could be hiding something or not. If you don't trust him that's probably a separate issue that needs addressing.

Is that the search engine he maybe uses? Some ppl don’t like getting tracked and I think search engines like that are meant to not be tracked. Doesn’t mean he’s trying to be secretive, ppl just don’t like getting tracked sometimes, but my question would be is that what he uses for all internet searches?
