I would say that would be the bloody show, not mucous plug. But definitely let your doctor know

I don't think Mucas plug is supposed to be that brightly red. If probably call or go to labor and delivery to be checked. I know there is a bloody show but I thought that was more brownish blood than bright red. Good Luck!

Just spoke to midwife on labour ward she said it's fine nothing to worry about
